Cindy Sustar
Director
Cindy surrendered her life to Jesus Christ at the age of 10. She felt called to be an educator and a missionary from a young age. She has been married to Ben Sustar for 26 years. They have three daughters: Rachel, Christin and Karis. She and her family have served as missionaries in West Africa through the International Mission Board from 2000-2021. She homeschooled their daughters from kindergarten, through Second grade while serving in West Africa.
Terry Moffitt
Administrator
Dr. Terry Moffitt has been an educator for more than 40 years, serving as a teacher, coach, principal, and head administrator. He has started six Christian school from scratch. In addition to his work in education, he started, and ran, two companies. The TCMI Group, which is a multi-faceted, global, consulting organization, and GMI Solutions. GMI Solutions provided security consultation services, threat assessments, hostage location and rescue, and designed pre-emptive security measures for entities around the world.
Bethany Morgan
First/Second Grade Combination Teacher
Bethany Morgan was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She graduated from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a major in Special Education and a minor in Urban Youth and Communities. She is certified to teach Special Education and is becoming certified in Elementary Education. This will be her fourth year teaching. She and her husband have started a mini farm with hopes of adding more animals to their crazy bunch. When she is not tending to their animals, she enjoys going to the beach, spending time with friends and family, and reading. She is excited to teach at Arlington Christian Academy and grow even more in her faith while also drawing children closer to God!
Wendy Hammond
Librarian, Music, & Art Teacher
Wendy Hammond has 12 years experience teaching elementary art and being the librarian at a small Christian school. She has also worked with children in various capacities on the mission field in West Virginia with her husband and 2 sons. She enjoys sharing Christ with children of all ages and is excited to have the opportunity to be part of the start of a new Christian school.
Shanna-Lee Fair
Kindergarten Teacher
Shanna-Lee Fair graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and received a Teacher Leadership Certification from the University of South Florida. She has 22 years of experience teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten in Florida and First Grade and Kindergarten here in North Carolina. Her and her husband moved to North Carolina to be closer to family and enjoy the seasons. They love traveling, exploring God’s creation, and all kinds of adventurous activities! She is so excited to begin this journey with my Arlington Christian Academy family and look forward to the adventures we will have together!
Cindy Barnes
First Grade Teacher
Cindy Barnes graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She holds a Master’s Degree in Reading, Language and Literacy from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. She has taught in both public and private schools in grades kindergarten through
fifth grade. Cindy also tutors children who are in first grade through high school in reading. Cindy loves teaching at
Arlington Christian Academy where she can share God’s amazing creation with her students.
Magda Thomas
Spanish Teacher
I am a Christian who loves the Lord, loves her husband and family, and loves God’s people. I am retired from the U.S. Air Force and am now a member of the American Legion. I enjoy reading the Bible and reading with my Ladies Book Club. I also enjoy gardening, bicycling, backpacking, traveling, playing the Oboe and singing I a choir.
Natayla Lewis
Russian Teacher
I received the Lord during the collapse of the Soviet Union. I completed three years of Bible School. I participated in the care and education of children in Christian families for 30 years. I hold two degrees; one in early childhood education and one in clinical psychology. For the last 10 years, I have been working with families who are rehabilitating children with autism and other neurological diseases. I have participated in missionary work in Russia, Ukraine, Europe and the Middle East for 22 years. I have been married since 2000 and have 3 sons, who are growing up in the Christian faith.
Board of Governance
Rick Whitter
Pastor Rick has been at Arlington since 1998 and has been on staff since 2001. He is a graduate of Southern Evangelical Seminary and is currently pursuing his Doctorate from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rick lives in Mint Hill with his wife Tina and their four boys, Zachary, Noah, Jackson, and David. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking.
Donna Wallace
Donna Wallace is our Governance Board Secretary. She has attended Arlington Baptist Church her entire life, having made a profession of faith during summer revival at the age of 10. She is a wife, mother of two and grandmother of five. Donna’s training is as a legal secretary. She has been a partner with her husband in operating a highway & heavy utilities construction company licensed in North and South Carolina for 57 years, serving as secretary/treasurer, and in developing a small industrial park in Cabarrus County. She has experience in economic development, communications, financial management, property development and management. Donna has many years of experience in administering a small scholastic scholarship program.
Tammi Burdine
Tammi Burdine, born 1960 has lived most of her life in Charlotte, North Carolina. She graduated from Independence High School and Appalachian State University, with a bachelor of science and communication and worked in broadcasting. She married John Burdine and they have two children and are now grandparents. Tammi has served for over 30 years in preschool, children and women ministries, as well as prayer, missions and Bible study. She continues to be involved in these ministries at Arlington Baptist Church where she has been a member for eight years. Tammi and her husband, John will be leading Parents In Prayer for Arlington Christian Academy, this fall.
Margaret Bolding
Margaret graduated from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She currently serves as Professional Services Practice Manager for a software consulting company and has been in professional services all of her working career. This position allows her to use her spiritual gift of Leadership/Administration in her professional life.
She also uses this gift to work behind the scenes on several groups within Arlington Baptist Church including leading Bible studies, serving as a race director for the annual 5K fundraising event, organizing college dinners for weekly Bible studies and serving on the Arlington Christian Academy Governance Board.
Margaret is originally from Fayetteville, AR and has lived in the Charlotte area since August 1995. She has been a member of Arlington Baptist Church since March 1996. She and her husband, Mike, of 35 years raised three daughters at Arlington Baptist Church.
Jack Munday
Although Jack is now repurposed (retired) since February 2022, he previously served as the International Director of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (RRT) since it’s inception in 2002. Jack had given leadership to the development of a Law Enforcement Ministry, and 2,500 crisis-trained chaplains in the United States, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. During this time, he oversaw more than 700 deployments to man-made and natural disasters such as fires, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunami, cyclones, shootings and civil unrest in 22 countries.
Jamie McCrory
Mr. James L. (Jamie) McCrory, Jr. has been a member of Arlington Baptist Church since 2018. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and is a Lead Engineer with Duke Energy. Jamie and his wife, Adelle, live in Midland, NC, where they are homeschooling their four children, Connor (12th grade), Ben (10th grade), EmmaKate (5th grade), and William (4th grade). Jamie enjoys playing music, reading, watching movies, and spending time with his family.
Romans 12:2 instructs us not to be conformed to the ways of this world, but to allow God to transform us by the renewing of our minds. It is Jamie’s desire that God would use Arlington Christian Academy in this process of transformation for the students and families involved.
